PAMPER YOUR SKIN IN 2023

Do Not Look Like a Zombie
After Your Hallowen Party Skincare Edition

If you love Halloween, you might already have your Halloween makeup ideas figured out. Now, Halloween makeup can be harsh on the skin, and the last thing you need is horrifying after-party breakouts. Let’s be real, no one wants to look like a zombie the week after. We have some amazing pampering tips for your skin to recover after Halloween.

1. TAKE YOUR MAKEUP OFF (COMPLETELY)

There is no such thing as arriving home after a Halloween party and going to bed without taking your makeup off. Doing that might sentence your skin to a few weeks of terrifying breakouts. Makeup and harsh paints will clog your pores and disrupt your skin barrier.

Start your after-Halloween face cleansing routine by removing any embellishment from your face, and always remember to be gentle. After embellishments are off, the best way to remove your makeup is by double cleansing the skin. Start by gently rubbing a cleansing balm/oil on your skin to melt all makeup from your face, and use a soft washcloth to assist in the makeup removal process. You can go in a second time with the balm if you feel that you still have makeup left and rinse your face with warm water to remove the balm. Right after, you can cleanse the skin again with a water-based formula and TOUCHBeauty’s facial cleansing brush to gently exfoliate the skin and remove 97% of your makeup or use TOUCHBeauty GLOW to remove 99% of makeup from the skin.

2. USE A TONER

While your skin should be clean after double cleansing, using a toner will make sure to remove any makeup residues and dead skin cells. According to Allure, “a toner is a fast-penetrating liquid that delivers skin a quick hit of hydration and helps remove some dead cells of the surface of the skin. The result: plump, glowy skin.” Just make sure you use a hydrating toner with no alcohol in it.

3. DON’T FORGET YOUR EYES

The eye contour is such a sensitive area. Make sure you give this area of your face extra TLC. Apply a rich eye cream to help your skin recover. Gently tap the cream with your fingers to boost blood flow and avoid puffy eyes.

4. LEAVE-ON RECOVERY FACE MASK

Halloween makeup can be quite drying on the skin. Applying a face mask will give your skin much-needed hydration. “One of my favorite tricks is applying a leave-on recovery face mask because I don’t need to wait those extra 15 mins before I go to bed. There is no time for that,” Susan, TOUCHBeauty’s Editor says.

5. HYDRATE YOUR LIPS

The possibility of your lips being extra dry after you remove your makeup is high. Apply a lip sleeping mask right before you go to sleep to hydrate and smooth your lips.
